TPH Transformers - Harmonic Mitigating and NEMA TP1
If
the electrical environment is going to include a heavy content of
computers, printers and other high tech electronic equipment that draw
current in pulses, the system will produce harmonics, This set of higher
frequencies and amplitudes will cause many problems such as: excessive
voltage distortion, Over-heated transformers, Increased system losses,
premature equipment failures, etc.
To treat these harmonics Thormag Power has designed the TPH line of transformers. This harmonic mitigating transformer is designed with a zig-zag coil that built to treat the 3rd harmonic in the secondary winding and able to treat the 5th and 7th on a system wide basis. The TPH will give you the best power quality while also at the same time meeting NEMA TP1 energy standard. The Thormag Power TPH will give you the highest efficiency of any transformer under nonlinear loads.
